Mia, I just love your s'caps - they fill in the gaps when I am sleeping and they also give me a link to where the ospreys live. I have a special place in my Red Heart for Scandinavia. I was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Right now the ospreys are not in the nest but I can hear them calling in the distance Whistling

Karen wave Kenno (leg band DH) is assumed to be a female. She´s was a bit heavier than Kaido when they were banded. Kaido (leg band DJ) is assumed to be a male, he´s the oldest one of the chicks. I think Kenno has more black in her head! Maybe a bit fiercer eyes... Chin Kenno has often a round and big crop as well. She loves to eat fish. Titter

I´ve never been in Denmark (ok, once in the Copenhagen airport). I ´ve visited in Sweden (and of course in Finland) in Scandinavia. However whole Scandinavia feels very comfy. TV presents a lot of Scandinavian series and movies here. And we studied a lot about Scandinavian countries in school when I was child. I also think there are a lot of similarities within the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian language (also they have the royal families!). Perhaps Finnish sounds more like Estonian. Grin

Thank You Mia for straightening me out on Kenno and Kaido! Who doesn't love to eat fish Grin

The Finnish language is entirely different from Norwegian, Swedish or Danish. It is thought to have originated in the Ural mountains ? an offshoot of Slavic languages. I read and write Danish and it is not in the least like Finnish. It makes interesting reading on Google. They say that Estonian is like Finnish. You are right about Norwegian, Swedish and Danish - the languages are very much alike.

Cheers, Karen
