First, I noted at around 4:40pm MDT the wing motion shots were normal - no double or triple exposure

5:40pm Both returned to the nest

Stood watching the river and then Dad decided it was time to mate. Which he accomplished and then flew off.

Mom remains river watching

PS: Note that the images have blurry parts. That is the dirt on the cam housing that was not cleaned this year

Mating. Don't know how cooperative Mom was --- didn't see her tail in the air. Dad flew off soon afterwards

6:51 am
Dad returned with another smallish stick. Mom continues to stand on the nest rim.
Below the nest two geese chased off another goose

6:53 am
Dad flew off across the river and returned at 6:58 with a new clump of grass which he proceeded to push into the bowl while Mom watched.

6:59 am
He leaves again and returns within the minute with more grass.

7:52 am
Mom is working on the nest while Dad is away.
He flew in and tried to mate with her but he lost his footing and she continued working on the nest as if he hadn't been there.

7:53 am
Dad flew off and Mom continues puttering about the nest.

Other than the two doing nest construction there hasn't been much else happening. If I was a betting person I'd say we'll have an egg by tomorrow or Friday. fingers crossed

A few minutes ago Dad was in to mate with Mom and left her looking like a rumpled mess with white feathers sticking out all over her back. Poor Mom.

G'mornin' Judy et al and Happy Earth Day. wave

Lots of ins and outs this morning as it has been all week. If the mating you saw was about 8:45 am I saw it too. thanks for the s'caps. Mom just hasn't seemed ready this year but I think that she is getting there. I hope the egg-laying will wait until after the weekend as we may get snow on Saturday but they come when they come.

10:50 am The nest is empty and it has been for awhile so maybe it's time to go fishing.Byebye See you later.

10:53 am Mom landed in the nest as I was posting, she appeared to polish something off, then Dad landed on her back but with the blurry images I couldn't tell if Mom lifted her tail in time.

Mom left right away and Dad is perched on the land side, then Mom flies in over his head with another stick. Dad preens and then flies over the river.

2:45 pm Mom and dad have been working on the bark from what seems like half of a tree, I would have liked to have seen that being carried up to the nest. giggle

They have placed it riverside and if it stays it should make a good corral fence for the kiddies. When I have looked in here today it has been business as usual with many comings and goings and nest building and matings so things seem to be progressing well and we should soon see some eggs for you pretty soon, Judy.

Our weather is supposed to turn today but so far the sun is still shining. Sunny
