Good Morning to all who love and watch this nest day 79-78 for the eaglets

With the camera angle and no sound it is really hard to know if they are still on the nest or branches close by.

Anywhere between days 68-84 or 9 1/2 to 12 weeks the eaglets will fledge. Usually the male will fledge earlier then the female. Once they are out flying on their own, the parents will continue to teach them to hunt, fish and take care of them selves. They will also be doing this on their own very quickly. They will hang around the natal nest area watching and learning from the parents. The Flight feathers are about 85% of the terminal juvenile length. The male will weigh about 9 lbs and the female about 11.5 lbs.

Happy Monday and day 83-82 for our eaglets

A poster of Hanover Pa, Eagle Cam posted on June 11th that one eaglet was seen out of the nest and one was close to it.. Karen Lippy took a sailboat out on the lake, but ended up not seeing any eagles. She then went on shore and was helping out with the kids of the part programs look for the osprey and saw an adult and one Juvie out of the nest.
My guess is both are off the nest at this point now..

Thank you everyone for the great year here watching and observing these two eagles and their eaglets grow and fledge. It has been a great learning experience for us all. When the snow storm came we all watched with such awe of Mom Hanover's dedication and Dad's too. Seeing the nest with so much fish and watching two healthy eaglets grow and develop into beautiful juvenile eagles and go out into the world will always put a smile on my face, Thank you to the Pennsylvania Game Commission and HDOnTap and Comcast Business for the cameras and the feed. Really hoping for new cams next season and positioned a little more out of PS range Perhaps two PTZ cams with sound will make this the nest to watch!!! Wink
Many viewers and followers have been here and watched them and are all looking forward to next season. Thank you for the views and the opportunity to see nature at it's best live on camera. Thank You

Also want to thank JudyB, Mary, Carolyn, Lonette, Donna, Bev, FFF and everyone who added to the enjoyment here. Thank you Hancock Wildlife Foundation for having this area to be able to post and share with everyone.

See you next season wave

September 15th 2015 update

HI everyone,
Been a nice summer and coming on to fall I am thinking about eagles, eagles, eagles Sitting eagle
I got a notice from the Pennsylvania Game Commission today about the Hanover eagle cam

In regards to the Hanover eagle cam, A decision is still pending. Should a decision be made to continue with the camera, it would be announced in December or January.

We are currently streaming live from Elk County, PA at http://bit.ly/PGCelkcam.

I sure hope they will continue to stream the cam and hopefully add some sound, a ptz and maybe even another cam with IR.. I sure don't ask for much giggle

Hope to be posting soon and see some eagles too
