Good morning, everyone, and thanks for all the great pictures and reports - and poetry!

I don't post here that often, but do check in fairly often - it's also one of the first nests I followed, and near and dear to my heart.

And I don't know about here, but turtle seems to be on the menu from time to time at a few other eagle nests - though we also know that eagles occasionally bring in the darnedest things, though not as often as osprey. Smile

Hi JudyB! Welcome Back!! Remember the Teddy Bear brought to the old Delta nest? Faintgiggle

This was my first turtle experience so I'm glad to know that other eagles enjoy them too. Just to add, my Aunt Nellie used to feed us the darnedest things. She invited me and a friend over when we were in college for a "hamburger". When we got there, the table was beautifully set, including a tureen of soup and a beautiful plate of some kind of meat. She told us she'd tell us about the menu items after we ate. It wasn't long before we figured out the soup - peanut soup. The meat was excellent, but we could not figure it out. Strange little bones, but it was great! Well, come to find out, Uncle Henry had found a big turtle in the back yard, and that was dinner. Don't PanicDon't PanicRolling on floor laughing

Great pictures, Lonette!

I'm thinking it's Fort St. Vrain where turtles are a regular part of the menu for growing chicks, but there may be other nests as well.

Dad landed on the osprey nest. Both Mom and Dad had been gone quite sometime. It appears Dad brought lunch. He waited around for a bit and then took off with it.
