Thanks for the pictures Urban Eagle Smile

I got some views too with binoculars tonight of one in the nest....took a hop off and did a brief circle around the nest tree and landed on a upper branch.

On a side note took a walk around the nearby Sanctuary and encountered the same old "same old" NO. Beer and pop cans thrown into the water near the boardwalk and general disrespect for the nature sanctuary and those who call it home. Unfortunately our eagles are even closer now to this sad reflection of our current society and the folks who treat this previous "jewel" in the city on the PNE grounds as their personal garbage dump Rant: Oh the shame

David and I lucked into finding your Hastings adults and nest yesterday! Driving along Hastings around noon I saw an eagle in a tree so knew we were close. It turned out to be right beside the old nest tree.

I took the pictures from the parking lot where David met up with a woman who lives in a house across the street. She very kindly explained the nest we were questioning was the old nest and pointed out the new nest where I could see a white head. She said they moved there last summer and thought how cool it was to see people meet in the parking lot in the evenings with their lawn chairs.

Old nest. My pictures usually click bigger x 2.

The adult in their new nest looked to be sitting high to me, but looking at Larry's pictures it looks high as well.

This distance is a bit of a stretch for my lens but content of the pictures is my aim.

Then the adult in the nest got up and to me it looked like feeding motions going on! fingers crossed

Maybe it was just self feeding because after this I met Scott who said it is early for a hatch. How nice to meet him.

In no time the eagle flew off and a change of the guard occurred.

And with that we moved on to Pandora so pleased to not only have found this nest but also to have witnessed the adults doing what they do.

Hi Stim

I am so pleased that you found the nest and that you were able to make such nice pictures. WooHoo
I would not be surprised if the Hastings eagles have a chick already.
They were sitting in the nest really early this year.

Thank You so much for your pictures. Clapping
