Hi Friends of Hastings eagles

Thanks for your pictures Sandra, very nice.
I am so glad the Hastings eagles are not nesting on the Cottonwood trees Sandra, as they are so dry and falling apart as shown in one of your pictures.
However, there was a little wind damage on the new nest as well:

The eldest eaglet is up looking around; what a Sleepy head that one is.

Both eaglets enjoying the weather.

They seem well fed as they never complain at least when we are there and that is almost daily.

Someone has any ideas for names please.

The "kids" are getting big! Oh My

So big, as seen on many recent visits, that one of the parents sits high above the nest on a big branch to leave more room for the ever growing children to wander about down below.

wave Hi everyone

The Hastings eaglets are doing great and it is about time that these lovely eagles have a good year.
The kids are huge now and they are very happy.
We have never heard them complain when we go to the lake.

At dusk I have seen Pa and or Ma sitting at the log in the water and when that happens all birds start to get real loud.
I feel sorry for all the duck mothers that get upset.
The 3 families of geese walked away with their little goslings and we did never find them.
Who knows where they are, the whole area is full of people and dogs.

Anyway I finally have some pictures of our Hastings eagles.

Ma and the kids are waiting for Pa.

Pa must have sneaked in while we were not looking.
Ma is preparing the food while the eaglets are patiently waiting.
I don't think Pa is allowed on the nest when Ma is feeding the lets.
I have seen him show a big interest in staying at the nest after he delivers the food
but Ma always gets rid of him, poor Pa.

Ma and Pa are working real hard for their family.
I can see mostly Pa flying back and forth, even from my house.
My eagle alarm aka my parrot Sugarplum always keeps us informed when he or she flys by. Titter

So this is a well deserved rest for one of our beautiful eagle.

What a marvellous update Annemie! Ma could be protecting Pa from getting charged by the eaglets when food comes in! GrinDunno
