Stan and I went to the Hastings nest on Saturday Nov.22.2014
It was at twilight and that is the best time to see our Hastings eagles.
Mom was just flying in with a twig in her feet.
Yes, the nest is still getting bigger.
She took some time to place the twig and then she flew back over to the parking lot.
She landed in a smaller tree in the upper part of the parking lot.
We have never seen her there before.
After a few minutes she flew back to the new nest empty handed and we think, called it a night as the darkness took over the day.



Do not take any attention to the time stamp it is wrong.

Am I right in that you can walk to both this nest and the Lafarge/Pandora nest? They must be relatively close to each other. I must check a map! Thank you for your update!

Both within walking distance stim......the Pandora location being just a few blocks further of a walk from home.

This evening around dusk, Stan and I saw one of the Hastings eagles having an evening meal in the new nest.
This is the first time we have ever seen one of the eagles eat in the new nest.

Haven't been by for a while but after the violent wind storm last night wanted to see the current condition of the new nest. It looked structurally sound even though the ground underneath the nest tree was covered with small fir and cottonwood branches.

I did notice some larger cottonwood branches around the top of the nest so even though nobody was around today it looks like they've been hard at work to try and make it a go

Great news Stan. After the velocity and length of time those winds came through I'm sure some nests suffered. So glad to hear your Hastings couple still has this nest.
