Hi MJB

That is very interesting.

Thanks for letting us know that our Hastings pair are the first local eagles that have returned home and you are very Welcome

Maybe they are back early because they are eager to find the right place to build a new nest.
Yes, it does feel good to have them back healthy and looking good.

Stan and I are definitely keeping a look out for our eagles and that includes the Pandora nest.
(There are no news for the Pandora nest yet.) NO

Thanks for letting us know Annemie! I was just wondering whether they would come back or not the other day! I guess only time will tell if they will build another nest - maybe they will take a year off after the last two bad years.

What good news Annemie! Your Hastings couple is early returning, perhaps knowing the task ahead! Grin I just hope that wherever they rebuild, that this year will be successful for them. fingers crossed

Hello Everyone,

Annemie, Thank You for your updates on this nest. Larry, I agree, it's time to start making some rounds.

I happened to be in the area of this nest on Sunday morning. I noticed one of the adults perched in the tree next to the tree with the nest that went down in the 2014 season. I couldn't see the other adult, and I'm sorry I couldn't get a picture. I was passing by on a motorcycle during the Toy Run so carrying my camera wasn't an option. I am most definitely going to be returning to the area soon, as I am very curious as to where they are going to nest this season, if they nest at all.

Cheers for a great up coming 2016 season!wave

Shrub (Heather) told me that the Hastings pair might be building a new nest next to the original tree in the parking lot so I went to investigate today. There seems to be a new clump of branches high in the tree, and there was an adult eagle on the branch next to it as I was driving by this morning!

Yes, very promising, albeit just over the parking lot again. Let the eagle watching get-togethers begin!
