They were just making sure you know where their new nest is and visiting you Heather!

Thank you Sandra. Stu and I found the new nest when it was first being built back in July. We decided to stop by on a hunch of mine, thinking that they would probably rebuild close to the old nest. When the Port Moody nest went down a couple of years ago, I remembered that they started to build in the tree next to where the old nest tree was. I told Stu of my hunch and we went with that. I thought it would have been in one of the other cottonwood trees next to the old nest. Stu was the one who discovered it in the tree across Hastings. The leaves near the top of an evergreen tree was the telltale sign of a possible nest. Confusion circle was with us and put his awesome lens on the nest and confirmed it! I'm so glad they stayed in the area. And it's still fairly easy to photograph.

Are there any local HWF members who post in the HWF forums and/or zoom the HWF cams who are not shy and will agree to be interviewed by the film company who is doing a story on the urban eagle. If so please email me at karen@hancockwildlife.org They want to know why you do it and what you have learned about eagles from doing so, etc.

A week ago



Yesterday,
parent seems to be feeding their chick.

It was windy yesterday, but not stormy.
When I arrived at the nest I was stunned to see that the nest has gotten smaller on the right hand site.
It looks cone shape now.
One parent is in the nest.

I took a look under the tree and saw lots of sticks on the ground.







As you can see there are stick all the way up the lawn.

Hastings dad did a food drop.
Mom was happy and let pa know.
