Roberts Bay Eagle nest 2014-2015

Welcome to the Roberts Bay Eagles thread.

This thread is dedicated to observations, photos and videos of the eagles who inhabit a nest overlooking Roberts Bay in Sidney BC on Vancouver Island.
The nest is on private property so the exact location will not be made public.
This pair successfully fledged 3 eaglets for the past 2 seasons. 2012-2013 and again in 2013-2014.
We wish them every success in the coming year.

I did a tour of the nests on the peninsula this afternoon and did not see any eagles around the nest or in the area. I spoke to one neighbour who said he hasn't seen them back in the area yet.

I visited the nest area today and didn't see any eagles in the area or near the bay

After many visits to Roberts Bay over the last couple of months, including today, I have yet to see these eagles and confirm their return to this nest. I don't think anyone else has either. The nest looks great though and would certainly indicate recent nestorations have been underway so talons crossed all is well for the coming season.

When I visited Roberts Bay a week ago I didn't see an eagle in the nest area and then all of a sudden one flew out from the nest tree. It was somehow hidden behind the foliage of this truly beautiful nest.
Yesterday I visited again and again did not see any eagles but it certainly looks like the nest has been prepared for a new season of rearing chicks. So we continue to observe, report and hope
