1:32pm............Oh my goodness..............can't believe the snow on the nest today! These ospreys must be wondering if they came back too soon? I am staying positive in the hope that all will be well here.............Ma and Pa are doing their best I'm sure.

One adult was on the nest.

1:36pm..................Adult flew back into the nest. I do not know if it was the same adult or the mate. This was 2 minutes after I noticed the egg uncovered.

3:35 pm Dad comes in with a fish for Mom. Red Heart It must be awfully cold diving into the Bow River at the best of times and he will be wet, how can he brood the egg now ?

3:38 Oh, oh.Oh My In attempting to roll the egg it moved towards Dad and is up alongside the snow and some snow fell into the dry part as well.

3:41 pm Poor Dad, he doesn't know what to do now, it isn't in the manual.,... he flies off and the egg is exposed to the falling snow. This may be heresy but where is that hungry raven when we need him?

Thanks for the s'caps, Bet and Jean. Mom came roaring in to cover her precious egg at 3:50pm so it was exposed for 15 minutes that time. It is still zero but I don't know how much moisture an egg can take....

I have the Derby on here too, Bet, but know nothing about the horses, I'll cheer for yours.Nodding yes

He won - the little horse from California!!! Against all the odds of his heritage!

I have pretty much given up 99% of any hope for the egg. If this egg hatches - I think the chick should be named California Chrome!

What I am concerned about now is Mom has always delivered her eggs every other day. That's today. I hope that nature allows her to hold back. Snow to continue through Sunday? When will it turn warm?
