9;06 pm Mom is on the nest gazing at the river as she does most often of late. It is still 18C and hit 20.5 with glorious sunshine most of the day.

9:07 Mom moved to pick up a large branch and move it to the outside of her nest. This one forms a tee with long extensions so it poses a huge problem for her.

I have had the cam up for an hour and Dad was here at first. Then he was in and out as was Mom and they were in the nest together for a short time too. Mom faces the zoo (cam) or north side of the nest for a few seconds and then goes back to her problem branch. Short of breaking off one of the prongs or ditching it altogether I don't know what she can do. What a shame as she is working very hard and I am amazed that it was lugged up to the nest in the first place.Oh My

Poor Mom, I hope that she doesn't catapult herself off the nest! There - if only she would leave it at the back of the nest. Now Dad is in to help.Green LOL I hope this is on tape BET, what a sequence..from about 9:15 on....
Dad popped down and quickly saw that he couldn't help and he flew off the nest.

9:23 pm. it is quite dark now. Mom is straining to see something to her left and she leaves. Good night Mom and Dad, wherever you are.

She finally got up and they were both poking in the bowl but blocking any view.

7:21 am
Dad is now laying on the nest and Mom's standing. I wish she would move so we can see more.
No idea if there's an egg not, or if Dad has just decided to have a rest. Whatever they're doing this morning is definitely different behavior from other mornings.

BET, if you happen to have been recording early this morning (before 7:15) I'm wondering if at some point Mom was up and an egg was visible ? I'm pretty sure there is one but it could be awhile before Mom decides to let us take a peek.

CONGRATULATIONS MOM AND DAD CALGARY ! Very Happy

Dad arrived within seconds of Mom getting off the egg.

Dad is incubating the egg while Mom stands nearby on the nest. She is in no rush to go flying off anywhere and I can't say I blame her after delivering an egg that size. She is probably exhausted.

8:48 am
The switch -- or so it appears -- Dad is up but wants to make sure the egg is still his. He rolls the egg and pulls it towards his body while Mom is trying to fluff the bowl. He's funny to watch.

Oh but wait --- just when it looked as if Mom would incubate the egg Dad moves forward and settled on it again. He's really enjoying fatherhood. Got to love him.

Very Happy

Congratulations to Mom and Dad on their first egg. You called it Judy and thanks for the great coverage this morning. I tuned in just in time to see Mom lift off the egg, at 8:41 Dad is now brooding. I'm wishing that I had checked the nest late last night in case Mom came back. Maybe BET has it taped, as you mentioned.

I was watching Iris linger at Hellgate but didn't realize Supermom was this close to starting her family this year. I'm hoping the cold weekend ahead is not as severe as predicted. I'm out today again on my bluebird trail before the snow flies. It's 9C here now so another pleasant day ahead.Grin for this beautiful egg. Bravo

Good Morning JD,Byebye
It is an EGG-CITING day !

I did see the weather forecast ahead for Calgary and thought to myself .... OMG, NOT AGAIN Cry The last thing this nest, or Calgary needs is 10cm of snow on the weekend. I really hope the forecast is wrong but it's not looking promising. There is rain and snow in the forecast all the way from the west coast.
