9:43am MDT (time at bottom of image in teal color is PDT)

Nest was empty - Mom flew in facing the cam and within a second Dad arrived landing on her back. Mating time!!!Roll eyes This particular mating was perfect for the camera view. I selected images that show Dad's feet during the mating. Recall I noted his curved in talons in Janets wonderful photos.

2:15pm MDT

Twice today I have seen our pair go on nest defense alert.

And Dad brought in a stick and placed it on the left side of the bowl - not in the open area though. Maybe as they spread out the center of the bowl, it will force some of the sticks to the outer rims.

Bet, I had an errand over by Bowmont Park in the noon hour today and of course had to check the river and osprey platform there. Grin No one was on the nest but as I was about to leave a soaring osprey came into sight and flew back and forth over the park and river. He was zooming so might just have arrived from the east - downriver where the zoo nest is located. Puzzled Maybe this osprey put them on the defensive but guess we will never know.

4;12 pm The nest is empty at present but I did see Mom here just sitting earlier and at 4:24 she stood up and flew left. 3 minutes later she was back with Dad and there was a very quick mating after which they both departed.

I have seen them both on the nest tonight - individually and then together around 7:45 pm, the mating lasted longer then (about a minute) and then Dad was away.

Mom stayed on the nest while it glowed in the sunset and she flew off at 8:36 pm. The strangest thing was earlier this evening when it was Dad standing mid-nest waiting for Mom. However if they perceive a threat I guess they will have to take turns on guard duty. Good night

ps I didn't expect that - Dad landed in the nest at 9:02 pm, looked around for Mom and flew off half a minute later. True love, I su'pose. Red Heart

Both on the nest when I turned on the camera.
The nest is coming along nicely but so far they've neglected filling in the left side of the box. A good chore for Dad once Mom is on eggs.

Dad is off somewhere along the river.
Mom backed up a couple of minutes ago and slightly opened her wings and has been sitting like that since then. I wondered at the time if Dad was coming in to mate but so far nothing is happening.
