Wow - Kaloakulua is growing so fast! Look how big the beak is now! But still prickly-looking. love

Thanks so much for the updates here, Kay - definitely a bit different from the eagles and osprey I watch more often.


Added -
Wow - if the cam hadn't zoomed in, I never would have guessed there was a chick there. Which, of course, is probably a good thing, now that I know that the adults may be away for a couple of days at a time looking for food for this growing youngster.

JudyB Kaloakulua is definitely a very different bird than the eagles or osprey we have been watching for the past 8 years. Kaloakulua is left alone for long periods of time and I wonder how far s/he will wander away from the nest, and if s/he goes back to the nest at night to sleep. I was watching for awhile this evening and Kaloakulua was wandering around in the grass away from the nest Oh My

She then lay down in the nest while Kaloakulua rested by the tree and preened.
