I didn't actually watch the feedings that closely today (work does get in the way). I noticed once where it looked to me as if the little one was being fed while the others dozed - and noticed at least once or twice when he either slept through feedings or gave up after trying to get to the front of the line. He's still doing fine - and looked spunky every time I saw them all moving around - so I'm still cautiously optimistic. And I'm hoping work will be a bit less busy tomorrow so I watch a little more closely.

wave Good morning Decorah,

Food certainly is not an issue at this nest and both parents are active with the 'lets so here's hoping that LB does just fine. Left thumb up

7:06 am,
Dad is on the nest eating (think he already fed the 'lets) when Mom flies in with a live fish.

Dad goes over to inspect the fish and LB pokes his little head right up. Dad spends a minute then leaves the nest.

BB and MB do not seem hungry (Dad must have fed them). LB tries to get over to Mom but BB gets him in a head lock. Maybe LB got a few bites. Since BB and MB were not interested in food, Mom tucked them all in.

Good morning, CAL - and Decorah friends wave

Thanks for the pictures and report of the morning feeding.

It looks as if the tiny one just had a private feeding

And now all three are dozing, while the adult is off for a brief stretch.

And now an adult is back. Smile

I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a rush tonight - no description, just a slideshow. All are looking good.

I wasn't able to watch a lot today, but did see a feeding in the morning where all were well fed. I also saw one in the afternoon where #1 initially bopped #3, who quickly went into submission, but within a minute or two was up beside #1 and getting fed.

The last pic in the slideshow is interesting - it sounded very windy, and the adult's feathers were clearly being blown about - but the little fluffballs in the nest didn't show even a quiver in their fluff - the nest is indeed well constructed to protect them from the wind! Grin

Nice slideshow JudyB. That nest is a mess. It's a real storehouse of fish...nobody will be hungry there. I'm sure that's why they don't pick on the tiny one too much. love

They used to have a place on the home page--or somewhere--that showed daily pics something like they have at Ft. St. Vrain. Does anybody know what happened to that section?? Puzzled
