I read this Ground Report on the Sequoyah Comments this morning below the cams...

Name: ray in edmond
Date: 12/26/2013 2:15 pm CDT
Comment: what is suspected to be the pair we've watched has built a new nest about 500 yards south of the nest on the camera

Name: ray in edmond
Date: 12/26/2013 2:16 pm CDT
Comment: the ranger said he hears vocalizations from the area all the time

Name: ray in edmond
Date: 12/26/2013 2:17 pm CDT
Comment: it was way too foggy there to see more than 20 feet this morning, i'll try to go back in the next couple of weeks and get some photos of the nest and hopefully mom and dad

Name: ray in edmond
Date: 12/26/2013 2:24 pm CDT
Comment: i didn't see them, the ranger has tho, and i know exactly where the new nest is

Name: ray in edmond
Date: 12/26/2013 2:25 pm CDT
Comment: as you drive up to the ranger hq you see the cam tree, and over to the left of that is another old nest they abandoned, the new nest is on the other side of that creek that runs south of the hq building

Name: ray in edmond

Comment: so, that makes 3 of their nests, counting the new one, within a very tight area, all within a few hundred feet of one another

Thanks for the updates Bev and Mia.....

So....the eagles have built a new nest....not surprising at all.

We will see if anyone claims this nest this year. The GHO was certainly interesting and surprising.

Bev Thanks for sharing Ray's report here ... I am so glad to hear the birds are nesting nearby Cheers

with a little luck this ole nest could be used as a feeding platform fingers crossed

If the birds are nesting nearby they may be very protective of this nest too ... guess we will see what unfolds here in time.

Bev, Mia, Judyb, Carolyn Thanks for your reports and scaps Thank You

Mia You had great timing so glad you got scaps thank you so much Left thumb up
