Yes, Bev, thanks. I also wondered why Eric would check the cams around the chicks when they were due to fledge. Our Mountain Bluebirds fledge around 21 days of age and monitors are told not to open the boxes after 16 days of age as that might trigger a premature fledge. It looked like that is what happened here and if so, it should be identified as such so people not in the know would refrain from going too near a nesting hummingbird, or any other, at that time. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Glad to see other "lost" birds are back where they belong, too.

JD.. Honestly....... i am sure Eric wouldn't do anything to cause harm or promote a fledge.. there are times he has to fix the cam and i have seen him do it before and all was well.... i believe Polly and Nate were due to fledge and it happened when Eric was doing a bit of cam maintenance......Mr Pungh has to fix his cam at times on the Phoebe Nest also........JMO
8:24 pm
Eric is in Alaska with the BBC doing a Hummingbird Project
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hummingb ... 6906596514
The cam is on a video loop..NO ACTIVE LIVE CAM.
I will wait until Eric returns .. to see if he going to set up the cam on Flower and her new nest......... as i posted earlier Flower build a new nest and laid two eggs before Polly and Nate fledged..........
Thank you all!
Bev.......
