When they are laying down like that they look like what is left of my dog's stuffed toy after she tears it up. Chin Fortunately, I am watching the cam and two of them have moved so far.

Someone off-line hypothesized that Justice is a male and Peace and Shasta are female. Because Justice is so much smaller than the other two, I was wondering if gender has ever been compared on eaglets of this size? I know Justice is two days younger, but two days ago the other two were still bigger than Justice is today... and it seems to me, that has held true throughout their growth to date. If females are larger as mature eagles; are they larger as immatures, also? Just wondering:question:

Hey Eagle Eye!
I think I read that the criteria used to predict that Justice is a male was the width/depth of the beak, not the overall size.
And, I agree, I have seen a dog toy or two that looks a lot like these eaglets all laid out like that!Titter

Yes, beak size was mentioned off-line, but I was just wondering about the size difference, too. ???

Not sure on that one Eagle Eye, but my guess would be that size difference would not be an accurate criteria to determine gender until they are full-grown? Maybe the experts will weigh in on this one for you?
Hope to see you this week when you venture down this way?
Here's a scap I took earlier today when Mom was providing shade for the chicks...
