Thank you David and Mary for a wonderful gathering! The weather was perfect, the food was plenty and the people were terrific! We had visitors from far away, Kit and Terri came from Redding and several came from coastal communities or Vancouver Island. A great time was had by all! Many thanks to all those who worked so hard and long to make this happen! Here is a sampling of the day.

Hello, everyone!

Nikki and I had a blast at the open house, and we met new friends and re-connected with some that I haven't seen in a while. It was also great to put faces to names. Special BIG thank you's to David and Mary for graciously inviting us into your amazing home and aviary (are you accepting borders at this time?LOL)!

The sandhills were a blast and we loved your pond and garden.
We got such a warm greeting from Karen B. and Gemini when we first arrived and we want to thank them for it.

Hello Everyone I am not sure how best to do this, but I thought I'd start by notifying those of you who may live in the White Rock / South Surrey area.

~~~~
David has discovered that one is his Demoiselle Cranes has gone missing, likely on Monday Afternoon:
SPECIAL NOTE: One of our Demoiselle Cranes walked out of the pen as the crew was moving all the yard furniture from the weekend open house. This is one of our breeding pairs that are just maturing.
see the photos here on this thread:
If anyone has any information about this bird, Please call: 604 761-1025 David
If those of you who live in the White Rock area could spread the word to keep an eye open for this bird maybe we will get lucky!
I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made
I'm so sorry to hear this! Sad I know how much David loves his birds! This might sound stupid but does it fly? Puzzled
Mary - David's birds are pinioned and banded but they can walk/run very fast and fly up a little bit. David is quite upset about this naturally.
Thanks to all who attended, all 106 of you!! I only wish I could have had time to speak with you all.
