First Flights Mid Morning For Eaglet 1, June 30, 2013
Video Camera
http://youtu.be/FQpPDf8MH5U

Eaglet 1 Fledged on June 28. This footage shows #1 wingersizing on the perch we found him/her at when we arrived at 6 am. The second flight in this footage shows landing back in nest with the still unfledged sibling, who goes on to take flight a little later in the morning.

More Freedom Flying For Fledgling 1, June 30, 2013

This is Eaglet 1 flying many different times in this edited video. In some of this footage, you will see glimpses of Eaglet 2 still in the nest, but towards the end, you will see that #2 is no longer in the nest. #2 fledged and is perched at the top of the tree next to the nest, camouflaged by the leaves.

The eaglet in the nest still has not fledged but looking eager to test those mighty wings. You will periodically see the fledgling flapping wings at the top of the tree to the right of the nest while the other eaglet works on his/her skills.

Parent Delivers To Empty Nest For First Time, June 30, 2013

I was away from my video camera when the parent delivered but am so glad that I left it zoomed out a bit. Observers thought it looked like a coot that was delivered. The newest fledgling, who had just made its first short flight about an hour prior, was up high in the tree to the right of the nest hidden from view. The other fledgling, who officially made first flight on June 28, was perched about 300 feet away to the left in a lone tree and eventually made its way back to the nest to claim the meal.

Linda visited the lake this morning for about an hour.
Eaglet #1 was preening and took a long flight across the road and landed in a distant oak tree.
Eaglet #2 still seems a bit nervous and just stayed put, preening and preening.

Unlike what we witnessed this weekend, both parents were together watching their new fledglings this morning.

Some close ups of Eaglet #2 courtesy of Linda Frasier.
