945pm MDT
Dad flew in bringing a good size fish which Mom promptly took

Dad moved to the back of the nest - probably hoping for the left overs. Mom fed with her back to the camera, hiding the wee ones from view. Dad gave up and left.
After feeding, Mom moved to the far side with the left overs. Have a view of the teeny tiny O'lets

Mom flew off for a few moments. Returned and covered the 'lets and the remaining egg - although she wasn't too careful with the egg.

7:06 am
Mom's gives up on the feeding and moves to the side of the nest and flies off leaving Dad standing on the side of the nest.
The chicks didn't get much to eat this morning and Dad isn't making any move to feed them or brood them.

7:10 am
Mom returned and Dad flew off a moment later.

7:11 am
Mom decides to brood the chicks. Meanwhile two fish are laying on the nest.

Chip and Dale - I like it. So Judy R - let it be When they get to be gangly teens, it will remind me how cute they are at hatching.
I logged on to Mom brooding, so no image to post. I'll be gone for part of the day today and tomorrow, so won't be able to keep a close watch, but I do not believe the remaining egg will ever hatch. I feel it is the first one and suffered from the plastic bag covering it episode or
Brian Keating of Calgary Zoo Outreach:
If this is a new female which I think it is, even despite the plastic bag frustration, the first clutch of their first years nesting attempt often has some infertile eggs (we have seen as few as one out of three eggs hatch in a given clutch on years when we were sure it was a new female).
First -time parents certainly have their difficulties.
