Dad returns with the fish in his talons. Looking at it I'm wondering if it's something other than a fish -- no real head or tail to it.

12:31 pm
Dad is still standing on the side of the nest with Mom watching him. So far she makes no move to get off the eggs.
12:32 pm
Dad carries the fish ? closer to Mom and begins pulling on it. Looks as if he might be eating it or just trying to remove it. Mom sits watching him but makes no move to take it from him.

12:34 pm
Dad flies off with the fish, or whatever it is, in his talons.

Nesting parent left. Still three eggs, but one looks as if it might have a crack. (Or a piece of nesting material.)

Adult back to nest a minute or so later and immediately began to incubate. I didn't notice eggs being turned. This might have been a switch from Dad to Mom, but I don't know them well enough to tell. This is who is here now:

Mom took a quick break
Mom flying back in - eggs ? I have a suspicion the first egg will not hatch due to the time it spent under the plastic garbage bag

Mom quickly preparing to cover the eggs

Mom arrives. Dad slowly rises from the nest and flies off.
Mom gives the eggs a roll and settles in.

I think there was a switch - and I know it still looked like three eggs, with no obvious pipping or cracks (though it is hard to tell given the uneven coloring of osprey eggs).

JKR, BET and Judy, great coverage on this nest I have my internet back today and was hoping to see a chick. The last time I watched the nest (6/15) it looked like there was a hatch starting. Sometimes a chick is not strong enough to peck out of the egg, hard work.. looking forward to the remaining two eggs hatching.
