WEATHER: Sunny -- High 22C Smile

8:17 am
Mom has been on the nest since I turned on the cam this morning. She's been beaking at the nesting but has remained on the eggs.

Just after 9:00 a.m. Dad arrived to take over from Mom. She flew off as soon as he arrived.

7:38 pm
Dad got up off the eggs and began flapping his wings. He definitely acted as if he was warning off an intruder.

Here are so more images of the "get out of here" warning

Dad was quietly brooding when he began to show signs of alarm. He started turning his head, beak opening and closing, (wish we had sound) and following something in the sky.

He stood up and spread his wings, covering the nest bowl. Then he moved out to the perimeter and continued with the spread wings, protecting the landing area. (Like Mom did a few day's ago to keep "Sue" from landing.) He kept turning evidently facing the intruder.

Mom came home

Dad took off - heading up river - I assume after the visitor to encourage her to move further on. Mom covered the eggs, but she is continually turning her head sky watching

11:31 am
Mom is back on the nest --- I was away from the computer and missed a switch.
So far this morning I've seen more egg turning than usual and it's getting closer to hatching time.

Dad arrived. Mom flew off and Dad takes over incubation.
I thought Dad had a fish in his talons when he arrived but I may have been mistaken because it's disappeared -- unless Mom took it with her when she left. The view of her was blocked by Dad so I couldn't see her talons when she flew off.

11:40am

Dad brought Mom a fish with this nest duty exchange. I have been trying to watch carefully all morning, but have not seen everything. I did also note, Mom constantly lifting up and poking at the eggs. Wish they'd zoom in so we could see better. I think my monitor is going to look like my windows after my dog has traced his nose print all over.
