BET I think that that would be the sunset reflecting in the water. The sun goes down at 8:48 pm this time of year.

I think this is the female with her necklace of feathers.

Cam is frozen with O still on the nest frame.

Refreshed the cam and O has flown off.

O arrived at the platform.
Otook off flying with a fish before I could get a screen capture of the departure.

I'm getting a bit concerned that the O.'s haven't been doing anything with this nest. I wonder if one of the pair didn't make it back this year ? Sad
I saw the same thing happen here one year when the male arrived and the female never did. The male stopped coming to the nest about a week later. I hope that isn't the case at this nest.

ETA: BET, I've added your identifying screen captures from 2009 to the first post on this thread.
The O we keep seeing has the necklace feathers which makes me think we're seeing the female.

Cam wasn't working when I logged on this am so I don't know if the O's were about. Started working again at 1:00pm

Regarding who is here. It's hard to tell. The best way for me is the top of the head showing forehead and back of head markings. But, the wind ruffling the feathers messes the pattern up. I went back through the images I captured yesterday in the two events.

As they appeared, from left to right - one after the other in the First one had a fish sequence.

Is number one the same as three?

In the second appearance with the wing fluttering. Again left to right in the order they arrived. No question in my mind that two and three are different O's. But is number one a third O or the same as one of the others?

One landed on the nest - stared in the distance across the nest and immediately flew away in the opposite direction.

4-27 7:00 MDT

My dog got me up at this unacceptable hour so I decided to check on the O's

I am pretty sure this is Dad. He was standing in the nest on the big stick. It looked like he was eating a fish - of course - but he kept his body in the way so I never got a good look. He flew off at 7:03

O. in with a fish.
He has been calling out -- sound isn't working on this cam the way it's supposed too

He moves to the other side of the box.

I'm starting to feel sorry for him.Sad He acts as if he's sitting there waiting for his mate to come share his fish. He keeps looking all over the area and calls out occasionally.

8:01 am
He flew off before I could get a capture and a magpie cam in as soon as he left.

O. is back again with his fish. (or it's another O with a fish Puzzled ) Head marking look as if it's the same O but this O seems smaller. Maybe this is the male and the first one this morning was the female..
The wind is blowing.
