All settled for the night. The rain has stopped and the nest is beginning to dry out.

I missed getting a s'cap but Mom got up and flew off . Dad was on the nest in as nano-second and took over brooding. There was no chance of those eggs cooling down !
Good parenting skills between these two which is nice to see on a day like today Wub

Can I say this is not normal weather but Calgary is noted for not always following the norm.
It's well below average weather in Alberta and BC this year. Sad

I am glad the chicks are still in the eggs. At least the shell can help keep their temps up. I will quit thinking that incubating eggs is boring in case it's my fault for the "excitement".

We, in N. California are having the same kind of weird May weather. It was snowing in the Sierras the past couple of days. Camp grounds that are booked for the first big weekend of summer use are closed - snow. Ski resorts are reopening for the Holiday weekend.

Mom and Dad Calgary Osprey are really great parents. Mom has come along way since the first few weeks of nest building. The female at Woods Hole "doesn't do incubating" She has laid four eggs and apparently considers that that is all she is responsible for. Dad is doing as much as he can - it is really a weird weird scenario.

The snow has melted but it's still only 2C and forecast to dip to freezing tonight.
Each time I've checked the cam the O's have been hunkered down on the eggs.

The O's were frozen so tight to the nest today, I didn't realize when the cam was frozen. Had to reload several times and I have no idea how long the cam was frozen. As JKR said, they stayed very hunkered down. There was no casual changing of the guard.

Here Dad is standing behind Mom ready to move in as soon as she stands up.

WEATHER:
Currently 3C and forecast for rain all day.

8:30am
Turned on the cam to see we have an additional piece of "something" long and gray on the nest. Puzzled
While Mom incubates the eggs Dad flew in. He hoped over to the "something" and beaked at it for a bit and flew off again.
We're left with another mystery item Titter
