11:00 am MDT (or there abouts)

Mom was on the nest. Signs of the wind blowing hard. Mom was fiddling with the nest bowl material. The cedar bark mulch has really shredded down into a nice surface. Anyway, Mom moved the glove - the wind almost took it, caught it through the large wrist opening, but then the wind eased up and the glove ended up face up with fingers and thumb clutching Mom's under feathers -- Grin as if to hold on

Mom flew off. Dad flew in. Mom back to join him. The wind gusting and both heads down to streamline themselves

Mom flew off - see next post - Dad fiddled with the bowl material and then did the chest down shaping it. He settled in - laying down and has been there for the last half hour. No sign of Mom Light snow blowing across the nest occasionally

Mom took off from the nest. She no sooner had opened her wings when a wind gust caught her. It really lifted and turned her almost on her side.

In trying to place it on the right front where he has been trying to erect a wind barrier, the stick landed on his back. He finally did get it squared away. Mom had to move out of the way.

They are building this nest center up against the wood frame. Dad has built up sticks on top of the supporting pole to make it as high as the frame wall now.

Sure wish he would fill in over the wire screen on the far side. But still plenty of time to do that. Eggs aren't even laid yet, although I keep expecting it each day now. There have been plenty of real matings to get the process underway.

Mom has started bringing in nest bowl material (no sticks yet) She made at least four trips that I saw this evening. Flying down towards the island. She has brought in gunk as far as I can tell.

After she releases it in the nest, she starts picking it apart and flinging it about the bowl. Maybe it's cement? Once when she was trying to pull a piece off, it wouldn't break loose and she did a header into the nest. Grin She quickly recovered

She took off towards the cam every time

DO WE HAVE AN EGG ????? MAYBE !! Nodding yes
Tuned on the cam and Mom is in the nest in incubating position. No idea if she has an egg and I'm really wishing the weather was better before she laid.

6:21 am
Dad arrived and stood on the nest for a bit. Mom didn't get up to move at all from her spot.

Mom hasn't moved. I wish we could see if there is an egg but at the same time I don't want her to move in this nasty weather.
Dad hasn't returned since his first visit.

I've been looking at that whitish thing with the dark donut end on it. (at 12:00 position on the nest) I wonder if it's a mitt to go along with the glove ? giggle

NO EGG !

Dad came into the nest and landed on Mom for either a mating or claiming. When she finally got up there is no egg in the bowl. Can I say I'm glad it wasn't today.

9:30am MDT

When I logged on I said OH NO - Snow and Mom incubating. Then Dad flew in - he landed on Mom's back. Sad Poor Mom, she didn't move. He hopped off and Mom stood up. No egg. Not a big dry area where she was lying. No mating and she went right back to the brooding position. She just now left the nest. No egg.

I am guessing, her behavior last night of bringing in nest bowl floor material and her spending this am in the brooding position, that an egg is imminent.

I haven't figured out what that thing that is shaped like a can is.

JKR your weather report shows flurries all week!!!! and 0 C. Not good news.

I will be gone for a portion of today so someone, please keep and eye out for an egg and post the news.
