That is precious JL, I am so glad to hear Ms. Harvey's success story. Wildlife can surprise us.

Little Hoot seems to be doing well. I hope Bonnie or Clyde have been bringing in food.
Thanks for all the reports,
carolyn

It sure does Carolyn. Glad to know the "jumper orphan" is safe.

Meanwhile... little O is getting bolder as he/she is now doing a bit of branching and a whole lot of wingersizing.

This is the baby owl that Pat Fisher of The Feather got from the Princeton area and tried to put in Ms Harvey's nest box - that did not work.

It ended up with Baum until it is flighted. Baum is feeding and protecting it from me for now.

Pat wrote from her Feather facebook page..

Baum was a car hit and was picked up by Don over 10 years ago. We needed some owl feathers to imp another owl that was ready for release. This bird was thought to be dead and was in the cap of Dons truck, when she started to come to and her talons were working. I got a call and Don said "come and get this dead owl" She now lives in a 12 x 16 cage and gets fresh food every night.

When we brought the baby down from the nest box at 9 pm, we did not have time to put pine needles in the nest box in this cage. We just opened the door and put the baby in, in the dark..

Bonnie is sitting next to Little Hoot on the left side of the nest in the sunlight. They are perusing and checking. I love seeing Bonnie with the Little Hoot.
Little Hoot has changed so much, really moves around the nest. When they are gone this nest will feel so empty.

Hi Carolyn and all who visit. It is interesting about Baum and the little orphan owl.
I will share more information as I receive it.

Wolf River Eagles has announced the little GHO baby has a name via FB votes.

Introducing adorable Storm...
