5:21pm..........Just checking in on today's posts. Carolyn, you crack me up with your Jack and Jill references!! I just looked back to your post about the water/hill etc. I have not looked back at all posts here, just some of them and I have a question. Has anyone actually seen Jack and Jill here recently?? I am supposing the answer is yes but I get the idea that they are not visiting here much at the moment. Why should they? They have that wonderful backyard playground close to the river with oodles of fish to catch!!
Greetings Bev, Terry, Sharon and Pam!
Many thanks to all who made this nest possible David and his crew of course.......and in particular Percy, Debbie and Shaw cable!

Hi Everyone!
Jean, yes Jack or Jill has been sighted/ not sure which or if same one both times. The eagle just about knocked the person who came in on it off their chair! Whoa.....there is an EAGLE! Wow.......
It was a short visit.
Glad you are enjoying this nest Jean - I think it is a treasure, right Terry, Bev, Judy and Pamela? Pamela knows for sure as she sees it right there before her eyes - lucky wonderful Pamela.
Sweet dreams all,
carolyn

A Happy Sunday Morning to you all
Quote by: Woodlands BleuHi All!
Pamela, I still see many snowy egrets and blue herons in that area on my daily walks. While they do not nest there they do fish there at the lake. A day last week I saw about 20 snowy egrets! And I saw them steal fish from the mouths of cormorants.
Carolyn I am totally jealous of your egrets! They are beautiful birds and I would love to see one up close and you get to see 20 at a time!
I also don't see to many cormorants out this way either.. they tend to be closer to Vancouver, around the Stanley Park area. But one or two make their way out here, just not as common a sight.
I have some good news, Karen has set up a ground observers thread for me, so that I can post my ground shots. It will take me a couple of days to get my bearings straight but will let you all know when I have something up. I take photos from Mission to Kilby and the Dewdney Slough is about halfway between the two places.
Ok I hear my coffee cup calling..
Talk to you all, Bev, Terry, Carolyn, Jean, Sharon soon.

Bev.. Lovely scaps today.. yes they were Mallards I think. I know there are hundreds of smaller birds and waterfowl in the area, I was trying to see if we could see any of them.

I am not sure what was out there, but there sure was a lot of them..

9:37am......:hello:Good morning Bev and Pam! Very nice pictures this morning. Things seem to be pretty quiet this morning. Zoomer you are doing a great job of showing us the area. I will post a picture but not the ones showing any houses to keep their privacy for them.
