Hi Sue, Karen and Chehalis R. friends! There are more salmon today and, yes, Sue - no blue bands. Yay!

Karen, Goldstream Park was wonderful - but, not too many salmon moving upstream, and mostly chum, so the colours blend into the gravel and they are pretty much invisible on my photos! We were told at the Visitors' Centre that the salmon haven't really started running yet and that, while a few eagles had been sighted, there would be more in a week or so. Lots of gulls feeding on carcasses, and pecking at the slow-moving salmon as they came across the gravel bars in shallow water.

Glad you had a good trip over to the Island. Now that you are back. you can start learning to zoom the Chehalis Flats cams.

I see that the salmon cam needs cleaning again. It's so hard to keep it free of algae. We have tried unsuccessfully to get one of the schools on the Native reserve out there at Chehalis to take on this regular task.
