Hi Sue and Chehalis R. cam viewers! Not much to report - I have seen a couple of very sluggish fish pass by, but that's it.....very battered, tattered and bruised!

The pictures I posted of the sockeye were from a hatchery north of where our camera is. David Hancock and I went back there yesterday with a US media producer and noticed there were not as many fish. Likewise here in the channel where we have our web cam there were very few fish. We were told that we are in between fish runs right now. There should be more coming in shortly.

Thanks Karen - will keep checking in now that I know more salmon are on the way.

5:44 p.m.: I'm seeing some fish swim by, but not many.

Hi Sue and Chehalis friends...not too much different this morning [in fact, nothing!], but here are some scaps from 9:55am. I counted about six or seven salmon while I was watching - they are swimming upstream a bit and then floating back down and hanging around near the riverbed.




I can bars of sunlight filtering through the water so nice to see it's a great day up in the valley.

1:32-1:33 p.m.: Not too many salmon swimming by; just saw these battered and bruised warriors wandering along.

7:43-7:47 a.m.: Just a few salmon swimming past the cam this morning.

After we finished reinstalling the cams on the Chehalis Flats Tower yesterday we drove up to the Weaver Creek hatchery to see what salmon are coming into it. There were more sockeye this week and some pink/humpback but mostly chum/dog/keta salmon which is mainly what you are seeing on our salmon cam right now.
