:hello: everyone.

Thank you for all the updates. I greatly appreciate it.

I just had a quick look at the nest and I am beginning to think they are building a fort. I wonder if Supermom remembers last year's hail storm.

3:00pm MDT

I am home. Had time to review my recording - the cam did not freeze for a change so I have a giant file. I skimmed through it. It is the same thing over and over Yo Yo time. Mom has stayed on the nest almost the entire day. New Dad is obsessed with building a fort. Now that he's learned how to do it. (Maybe he has seen the directions for Lincoln Logs Green LOL) He for some reason is building up the near right side. He was off and on the nest about every five minutes. Below, a couple of examples of his efforts

They are just great BET, jrk, Christine, jd, Donna and all......

I love the "Lincoln logs" comment BET. Yes, that is the trick.....follow explicit directions to make a perfect fort. Mom is probably getting ready to lay egg(s); well not at the same time, but
one at a time.

Things are looking good!

7:00pm

Sharing the fish

Just before 7:00pm Dad flew in with a fish.

Mom turned to take it, but was not aggressive about it. Dad had it secure in his talon. So Mom leaned down and took a bite out of the opened fish (Dad had already eaten the head.
Then he took a bite and she another - I did not count but several each.

Then Mom tried to take the fish and Dad let her. She took off to eat it elsewhere.

SATURDAY, MAY 4, 2013

Good Morning. :hello:

7:02 pm
Mom has been standing alone since I turned on the cam a few minutes ago.
The bowl of the nest really shows it's depth in the morning sunlight. Now for eggs ------- come on O's ---don't make us wait too long.

7:13 a.m.
In comes Dad and he lands on Mom's back sideways. I don't think he intended to mate this time because he almost immediately jumped onto the nest.

One thing I noticed about his feet when he was on Mom. He cups his feet the way O's and eagles do when they are cradling their eggs instead of extending his talons.

7:14 a.m.
He flies off again.

He's back --

Mom had been on the nest all alone for awhile. Just fussing about. Suddenly she took alarm and yes,

In drops our wishful extra male

He tried landing on Mom's back and she kept protesting and switching about. He would hover and try again Finally he did manage to land - but no cooperative tail action from Mom

He could not get a purchase on her back lifted up again, and Mom again was able to use her wings and protest his presence

He flew off without accomplishing his intent.
