Here is some more of the fish fight I have been reviewing my video and trying to select only three images. So glad that you two - Janet and Christine have posted some of them

The fight lasted a full 5 minutes. Beaks and talons of both O's embedded in the fish at one time or another.

Mom had been standing on the nest for some time and suddenly here comes Dad inbound with a good sized trout ( at least I think it's a trout)

He landed on the right side of the nest and immediately hopped over Mom to be on the left side. And then the fun began - stretched legs and/or all body weight pulling backwards as the beaks held firm. I fully expected the fish to tear in half. Green LOL It was big enough for both.

(edit: I noted something in the image below. Look at the white spot in the middle of the top of Dads dark center head marking. It might make it a bit easier in determining who is who)

Finally at 4 16pm Mom got control. It took her a couple of seconds to realize she had it and then she wasted no time departing with it.

Dad stayed on the nest for a while longer and then he flew off in the opposite direction.

No a billing and cooing event!!!!Rolling on floor laughing

That must have been quite fun to watch - tug of war with a strong "tug". Good for mom, she won!
Thanks for recounting the tale BET.

8:15pm...............Good evening all! Both adults are here. Pa on the left and Ma on the right. Ma is having a war with the tall stick which is annoying her as it stands up in her way.
