The fog is finally pulling back from the nest - had been looking pretty mysterious so far this morning. I'm trying to decide if I saw something land in the upper branches of the yellow tree near the top of the screen

- and I did, because it just flew off. Unfortunately I don't know how big it was. It's my impression that the tree is a ways away, so it was probably a fairly large bird - but more than that I don't know.

Still - it was pleasant to see something other than a spiderweb moving around! Smile

11:05 am

I heard a few trills a few minutes ago - but still haven't seen anyone in or near the nest.

I saw this eagle sitting in one of the trees at the front of the OWL property this morning. I'm thinking that it is Ma Delta OWL but I'm not 100% sure. She sat there for maybe 10 minutes, looking all around, driving Flash and Curly (our education eagles) nuts. She then took off in the general direction of the nest tree. When I left this afternoon there was no one anywhere near the nest.

Admiring the view and getting a little warmth from the sun.

Flash and Curly's cage is about 20 feet to the right in this picture (no wonder they were squawking up a storm!).

She flew off towards the nest which would be maybe 300 feet away.

ETA: maybe I should have put this in the Ground Observers thread (?). Sorry, I don't know how to move it without retyping the whole thing so I will leave it here.

It seems to me that there is more grass on the nest - definitely more that when I scapped the squirrels Grin
