What incredible timing to be able to see and hear one of this wonderful much loved pair when I am feeling sad about the Delta2 family leaving!

This video is very grainy but still it was such a treat to look up from what I was doing to see an eagle!

eagle on the nest and was calling to mate(sorry no sound on my videos)

Wooh Thank you for the heads up jkr, and thank you to Bev as well for calling you! :cheerguy: Great team work at play once again!
Maybe these 2 beat the rush to Alaska and are back ahead of the other tourists. fingers crossedGreen LOL
Let's hope some serious nest building takes place next season.

Wonderful news that this sweet pair have been seen on the nest! I'm still extremely hopeful that next year will be "THE" year for them...beautifully refurbished nest.....another year older for them both...only good things can happen for Ma and Pa Delta Owl I'm sureSmile

Video: Farewell Delta OWL Bald Eagles 2011

The time has come to say goodbye to these eagles. Madam laid two eggs in 2009, but they failed to hatch (not uncommon for a young pair).

This nest was completely destroyed by wind in early 2010.
In September, David Hancock cleaned and refurbished the cameras and shored up the nest with reinforcing. Two more eggs were laid in Spring, 2011, but they, too, did not hatch.

We hope these loyal and persevering eagle pair will be successful in 2012.

Music by Kevin MacLeod: “There is Romance.”

1st egg: 3/10
2nd egg 3/14
Eggs did not hatch

Version with music is also posted in my Media Gallery album here: Farewell Delta OWL Bald Eagles 2011

Thank you, beans. I'm so glad you worked your magic to make a record of the events here - lovely music to go with lovely images of a pair who really tried very hard. sad

I do love this pair - and so hope that they'll be successful next year. love

Thanks, Judy. I am hoping they will be successful in 2012. We must turn the cams on!

Remembering when a group of us stayed up LATE at night, waiting for the first egg, and then the second, to be laid. And more late nights when we were on Hatch Watch. Yeah, I had to get up early in the morning, but still I stayed up late.

Sandra asked me to make a video for these eagles, and I told her I had already started one. Sandra, I hope you are reading these posts. Here's your video. love

The CU cam needs a site visit, which will hopefully be combined with the annual cleaning/maintenance visit.

Thanks for letting me know that the WA cam was down - I've restarted it and it should be OK.
