2:23PM w/a eagle trills heard... not too near.

Other than the 'bad floor' this nest isn't too bead really. The sides aren't too low and it has lots of room for 'expansion' out onto the perch branches. when compared to the Delta1 nest this looks prety good to me,

Hi I remember that there was a QUOTE made on Feb the 5th that the racoon problem would be taken care of. The racoons are still there going into the nest. Thats why we hardly see activey of the eagles in the nest, how long before something is done about the racoons. Guess the delta couple eagles will mate somewhere else and us as viewers will miss this couple as they go else wheres. They were so FAITHFUL with there eggs last year I was hoping to see them be successful this year. Guess we won't see that what a shame?????????????/

I just phoned David about the raccoon problem. He will email Bev Day but there are a couple of problems:

There is more than one tree involved and the raccoons cam cross over.

Those trees are not on OWL land and permission is required to go there and do things like putting up predator guards.

I should have rigged something up on Sunday when I was at the nest for raccoon proofing!Titter To be honest I think the tree is just not the right tree for an eagles nest...seems like this "young" pair have an issue with choosing an appropriate tree.

plahti I edited your pic so everyone can see it in your post.Wink
