Or maybe the question is - if the Delta eagles are busily building a new nest where we can't put a cam until next summer - is a raccoon cam better than no cam?? Cool

Delta cam is down.

A note from Ken :

Delta machines will have to be power cycled sometime this morning.

Will keep all informed

ETA:
10:34 a.m.
The Delta cam is up again but there's no one home -- Not even a raccoon.

It's hard to say for sure, plahti - this is only the second year we've watched this nest. Last year we think they laid their eggs around February 20-23 - but we've seen variations of a couple of weeks in some nests.

I must say that the nest doesn't look very ready when compared with the nests at Sidney or Hornby, both of which laid their eggs in March last year. I do know they can fix up a nest quite quickly - but we haven't seen much work being done, so it is possible that they either aren't planning to nest this year (which sometimes happens after eagles have a nest failure - and last year their eggs didn't hatch) - or they may be preparing an alternative nest.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
