The raccoon is cute. He looks quite young. Since he found the nest to be quite comfy he might be back for his day sleep and that is baaaad news for the eagles if they decide to try to make this their nest for the season. Due to all the wet weather, he probably likes the high and dry ready made bed! Nodding yes

Raccoons love eggs! Raccoons love anything edible, meat fish vegetable etc. Once they have found a food source they keep coming back. I had to buy a lock tight container for my dog food (I kept several 40 pound bags at a time) to keep one of those creatures out. Was several weeks before he quit trying to get in the containers. Then he switched to my trash can.

So the eagles and their eggs will be far better off in nest in a new location.

Morning Delta wave

All quiet at the nest and no sign of the racoon!
No sign of Ma or Pa either!
Interesting discussion and it will be more interesting
to see if Ma and Pa use this nest this season!

Soph I agree would be interesting to see if the racoon returns
and it would be more amazing if the racoon took up residence here!
I find it odd that Ma and Pa did not respond with an intruder in their
nest Puzzled it may well be that they have taken up residence at a
new nest and lets hope that they have!

I wonder if Bev or Ralph noticed Ma or Pa in the area or if there
were any fly bys or calls or thrills

Bet I agree this is bad news for the Ma and Pa Delta. I cannot see
them returning to this nest but I guess only time will tell for sure!

Great scaps and reports everyone thank you Left thumb up

There are some small nest thieves on the nest at the moment - but not starlings!
I'm trying to catch them on close up!

And the close up cam window has become smaller

bev.

Racoons have spoiled many a falcon nest and I would imagine it would do it here also. NOt good news ,that is for sure.

that may have been what happened at the fire hall nest last year

I hope Bev. day is aware of this and is watching where the ealges are.

I hope Bev is keeping an eye on things too, bev. I stay hopeful for them to make this nest their home though.
