Can't say there's nothing go on this evening. Charlotte is as busy as ever.

I got such a nice phone call while I was at work today. It was Bev Day calling to let me know that Ma was laying in the nest and Pa was perched high in the tree. Bev has great faith that they will be sticking around for the season.

I've been hearing trills for a while, haven't seen anyone - until now.

6:52 am
Someone just flew to the branch in the upper left where they like to perch. I think an adult eagle, but am not positive.

7:15 am
Eagle flew away to the left.

7:23 am
Back in the upper left branch, giving some trills.

Great pictures, Judy - thank you!

I came back to the computer a while ago to find one perched on the branch by the nest.

After a while, he or she left - and returned a while later carrying something. I haven't been able to figure what it is, but it looks as if she(?) is having a snack.

And now the other one has arrived! I'm not quite sure what they're doing - but I like the fact that they're doing it together at the nest! Smile

There has been a lot of building work - but I can still see a worrying amount of daylight through the nest!
Good job we know it had a good builder Wink

Mom stayed on the side branch for quite a while - I didn't make a note, but I'm thinking around 11:45 am, I saw a large bird fly across the field. Mom watched for a minute, then flew out towards it. My impression was that it was Dad, and they did a bit of circling and headed off - but I couldn't see enough of the activity to be sure of that.

I sometimes have trouble telling holes in the nest from reflections on the nest. It's looking more solid to me in this s'cap than it was in yours, Pat - and I've no clue which is more accurate.

Added - looking back at jkr's nighttime shot, it does seem as if they need to do some reinforcement on the left side.

I share her optimism JKR! Even Charlotte seems to want to be around to wish them good luck Left thumb up

2:40PM no ne home now but they seem to have had a busy morning. I'm watching.

I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made
