Both cams went down around 8 am (I'd been watching for a while before that, no eagles in sight).
I checked the BC Hydro outages page - and they're reporting an outage on part of 72nd Street in Delta - which I think is where OWL is located, and which is likely where the nest is located. They have 10:30 am as an estimate for when power will be restored.

I'll keep checking, and will see if we can restart the cams remotely or if we need to contact Ken once the power is restored.

I've sent an email - my recollection is that they are a bit touchy - and Ken or Richard may need to wait a few minutes after an adjustment to be sure of what they're seeing. It's had a couple of intermediate stops, but now seems to be back to about where it has been.

It also showed the branches beneath the nest for a few minutes - unfortunately I didn't think to s'cap that "for the record" - but there are a number of possible perching places below the nest.

Holy Moly! I was at OWL for a couple of hours today teaching a class. The wind was just ripping through the place and the rain was pelting down. When I got there at 10 the power had just come back on so that explains why the cams were down. Not surprisingly I did not see either Ma or Pa at all today. They have the sense to hunker down somewhere safe and warm to ride the storm out.
Oh well, there's always tomorrow. It's supposed to be an OK day with a chance of some of that bright light kind of stuff showing up. I think it's called sunshine?

:hello:jewill, so glad to see you posting here on this threadLeft thumb up That's a shame that you aren't permitted to post the updates on the activities at OWL any moreSad I'll miss reading all the news and seeing the pics of the birds that come inSad I was able to attend the Open House last year as it was the weekend before we left on our cruise. The year before it was on the weekend we left on a cruise and I couldn't attend. I'm sorry to say I'll miss it again this year because I'll be cruising the Hawaiian IslandsLeft thumb up

Good morning! Looks like another windy day at Delta, though not as much as yesterday. I've been watching and listening most of the time since it began to get light - and haven't seen or heard any eagles yet.

9:43 am
Just heard a couple of trills - haven't seen anyone yet.

Good morning Judy,

I saw what I am sure was an eagle flying straight towards the tree and at the last moment it swooped up as if going to land at the top. It was too quick for me to scap but I made note of the time, it was 9:41. Smile
