Oh, what beautiful s'caps Bet. I see that I missed the fish "non-delivery" earlier. Guess the talons have to be designed to hold the prey well as it can be quite a feat getting them out of the water and up to the nest. Beautiful wing and tail s'caps as well.
I have been watching White Rock as their first egg hatched about 3 PST this afternoon and it has been raining ever since. Poor Mom hasn't had a break and we haven't seen Dad to give her one. Things are even wetter at Decorah and here in Calgary we are dry, dry and would welcome the rain.
Glad to see that things are progressing so well on the nest though. Hi Lilywriter, happy to see you here, I may not be on much for awhile.

Good morning!
My mom and I were just watching and we thought we saw another osprey flying around. It was 8:32 or so Calgary time. The dad brought in a stick and took off with it and seemed to be flying after another O. We then thought we saw it again. Sorry, I am not fast with doing s'caps.
Have a good day,
Christine

Christine, now that you mention it, I was almost sure I saw that happen but it was so quick that I wasn't positive of what I saw. Glad to know I wasn't seeing things.

9:46 a.m.
Dad lands long enough to mate with Mom and then promptly flies off again.
I think he should concentrate on getting more building done in case eggs appear in 3 or 4 days
