4:56pm a quiet scene at the nest site. Warmer here than at the eagle nests in the Vanouver area

Christine

Great photo - thank you for sharing
==================

Tuesday Sept 25 909am

What is this object that crawled up and out of the water onto the bar and then back off the other side? It stayed on the bar for close to 5 minutes. Note the time bar. I do have a video of it, but 5 minutes of not much to look at - I will post it if you really want to see it.

I agree with Judy R

Please, keep all the Calgary Osprey photos and comments, be they the Zoo/EnMax nest, other nests, and/or ground images in this forum. They all, as predators on the Bow River fish, interact with each other in some way. Having information and images of all possible Ospreys, make this forum a much more interesting adventure. Not that the Zoo/EnMax Ospreys don't provide a lot of adventure all by themselves!!!Roll eyes

Ditto, here. thanks Judy. The more information and wonderful ground observations and photos the better, imo.

Christine, that is a fantastic photograph, thanks you. Perhaps you posted and I missed what nest it was. I'm guessing that it might be just south of HW 22x as Janetp has observed an adult and pair there last week too? As late as Sun there has been at least one osprey sighted by Nature Calgary observers in Fish Creek PP.

I'm still looking for information on how many active nests there were in Calgary this year, so if anyone knows it would be great if you would post that info. here, too.

BET, could your white object be reflections or something caught in a spider's web? I had four white object above and slightly left of the gravel bar at 10:25 am, whoops a middle one just vanished from the screen. Now all are gone.

The magpie which entered the nest at 10:14 am has been in and out and just went below too. At 10:28 am he popped up from below and was investigating the osprey's domain once again, he then flew off.

Thanks for the news about the closing down of the Camera, Janet. Sad but at least we will have a new season to look forward to. LOL

Thanks Janet, for letting us know about the camera. I echo your sentiments..........thanks to everyone involved in the nest in any way......what a great experience for me watching that gorgeous, brave mom as she looked after her family. Can't wait to see her again and see "what the future holds for her".

The nest tonight.
