10:03 am
Lots of chattering going on at the nest. It would be interesting to know what they're seeing. So far all I've seen are crows and gulls.

10:04 am
Mom flew off in a hurry and headed across the river.

10:05 am
The two chicks are alone. The one with the fish hasn't bothered to eat it and the other is chittering at him.
Having such a lack of appetite tells me that they must be catching their own fish or they'd be much hungrier than they are.

10:10 am
30 minutes after the fish was delivered the chick finally decides to get down to eating.

Just checking in and I see dead fish all over the nest, wow !
No news of Chick 3 ??
Hopefully they will update us tomorrow when CWRS Admin are back at work. The facility was only small, I was SHOCKED. The University of Calgary Vet School is adjacent, and looks state of the art, sounded like they depend on the use of their xray equipment. Hope that O was given a clean bill of health yesterday and will be released very soon. Fingers crossed and prayers. At least we know they are giving her nutrition, but wish she were enjoying some fresh fish.
Pls if anyone hears anything, let us know, I will do the same.

hi jkr - she is certainly working on it- I can't remember when that fish came in but it has been rejected for at least two days now. Perhaps it was dry to start and ma found the fish, someone mentioned it looked sliced - maybe it was a steal from a fisherman??or a discard?

I don't know if the fish would have been a steal from a fisherman unless the fisherman was being naughty. Only birds and animals are allowed to take fish from the river. The river our osprey fish from is a catch and release river and there is a hefty fine for keeping the fish.

11:13 something has been going on lots of chittering and mantling -intruder ? ma? non eater flew off toward the right then back on and shortly after he/she flew back I thought I saw an osprey tail fly under the nest. Perhaps the large fish is attracting some unwanted attention?
