Nice snaps gd and jkr. That lone unwanted fish needs to be slipped over the side. Will be watching for mom today.

It looks as if Mom is going to try to eat some of that fish. The one O is sticking close to her --- maybe hoping to be fed ?

9:47 am
The old fish hasn't kept her attention for long. She's too interested in what is happening off the nest.
The chicks are also wary of something off camera.

9:48 am
Mom lost interest in the dried carcass.
The chick with the fish is in protection mode as his sibling moves closer.

gd I agree that there is something in the area that is bothering them. I got a few snaps also of mom coming in with the fish and then beginning to eat the nestover fish while one chick owned the fish mom brought in. They almost toppled mom this time.

9:39 Mom incoming with fish.

The head is off the fish so some of the posturing earlier could be because she was feeding nearby. They were sure chittering away for abaut 8 min before the fish arrived.

This is going to be a very interesting week ahead. Over the past two years the osprey have abandoned the nest by Sept. 15.
In 2010 they left on Sept 15th.
In 2011 they left on Sept 10th, although they were spotted flying in the area.
It's anyone's guess what will happen this year.

Also please be aware that once they do leave the actually nest Enmax usually chooses to shut down the camera for the season, much to our chagrin.
