9:59pm no one home.

Let's hope that we have better luck with sound on our favourite nests next season, Jean fingers crossed

I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made

There both just meandering, then the chick at 3 o'clock looks down as if it's a major surprise just to see it,then goes right into the
flash of wings,no real mantling, just a quick flash
and takes the trout, this will be great if momma shows up with one, then they can practice all day at their skillls of flying, following
momma and fishing.

The children need time to wake up,the chick with the fish is at 1o'clock and just enjoying the morn'in sun. Now! back to the house
up the shore,if they keep that chick any longer their gonna have to fly
it to Columbia,i'll hope that it's released,if i hear that it just would not eat and struggled in captivity to a worrisome condition,
i'll be ticked! Have a great day!

Good morning Gerard :hello:

7:21 a.m.
One chick has decided to play around with the crusty old fish. It is probably dried out like old shoe leather by this time.

He has decided to eat it but I wonder how long that will last before the novelty wears off and he leaves it laying on the nest again.

Good morning Calgary, jkr, gerard and anyone else on this am
7:45 chic that was eating fish leather has gone and the other remains at 9

the fish leather remains thoughTitter
7:55 lots of bird activity down on the sandbar

chick at 9 seems to suddenly awaken, starts to call, sees crusty and walks over and starts on it -at 8:02 she has moved the heretofore spurned fish to 8, no sorry, the centre, no, back to 8 and is trying to get something off the remains- after a second or two she is dragging it all over the place as though finding the right spot on the nest will somehow make it more palatable-

Hunger finally won over and the last chick decides to check out the crusty fish.

Moves it to the 7:00 corner.

Decides to flap around the nest with it.
That fish needs some tenderizer tossed on it. It's so stiff that it has a curl to it. Rolling on floor laughing

I haven't had much time to watch the past few days but was that fish ever actually fresh ? I'm wondering if it was dried out when Mom delivered it originally ? It definitely hasn't been a favourite food item.
I think these chicks have been spoiled with an abundance of fresh fish and don't expect anything less. It's time they learned that when they're on their own this may be classified as a banquet on a bad fishing day.
