Food fight. The chick trying to steal the fish is relentless. He's not about to give up !

Finally, after a lot of tugging, the chick that had first claim on the fish is able to keep his prize.

No third chick.
Last year on this date we had two out of three chicks coming back to the nest. A day or so later only one would stop in but only for short intervals. This is normal behaviour and I don't think there is anything to worry about.

The chick with the fish doesn't trust him so he flew off with his fish.

He arrived again to the opposite side of the nest with his fish still firmly held in his talons.

The chick remaining on the nest has found something to pick at. No idea what it is but it's not a fish.

Pretty sure the chick at 4:00 is the third chick. His head markings are quite different than the two that were on the nest earlier this morning. The chick that had the fish today is away from the nest now.
gd, you could be right that he was wet . Maybe he's been catching his own breakfast. :dunno:

I'm forgetting what these birds are -

but one of the chicks was in the nest a minute ago, busily chasing them off as they tried to land. One of them was especially obnoxious, so the chick took off after it - leaving the nest open for the others to stop by! They're probably pests - but are very pretty.
