5:06pm 3rd chick returns to the nest.

Check out those talons!! I am getting better at knowing what's what on this nest, so my s'caps are more 'on target'.

While I'm thinking about it, has anyone got any idea about the specifc types of fish being brought to the nest? We have so many spectacular s'caps of incoming fish, surely someone would be able to identify them. I have read there are several types of trout in the river...

I'd sure like to know if they fish preferentially or just take what they can easily grab. If it is preferential that might be why some days are good fishing days and other not so good.

5:36 Nice big fish just delivered. Poor mom had trouble breaking away from entangled feet with the chick that got it!

Clearly the bird at 12oclock has a fish.
based on behaviour I'd say the 1 at 5oclock does too but I can't catch a glimpse of it.

6:01pm look up from typing and mom is gone now.
1 chick (at 7oclock spot) has stayed on the sidelines through most of this coming and going

8;38pm.......What a difference a couple of weeks make! We were all so worried about these chicks getting any food at all and now I see fish galore................not even being claimed! The one chick in the nest is holding down a fish and enjoying it immensely. There is another large fish at the lower left corner of the nest. Mom sure is doing a great job! It will be interesting to watch the next few days to see what Mom does...........who knows if she will leave or stay? Terry, that was a great capture of the "birds" in the distance behind the nest down by the river! It is hard to catch those kinds of pics. BET, loved that s'cap of the big fish that Mom brought in on your 5:35pm post. I suppose that fish is the one left over in the nest at the moment??

8:45pm............The chick in the nest took off for a quick fly over the river. Just missed his take off but he/she was back in a flash to the nest. It did not finish the fish it was eating so there are even more leftovers in the nest!
