Second chick arrives. Both wait and watch

We also had a squirrel visit the nest this morning. It was a very short visit so not much it wanted there.

There's been a lot of coming and going the last few minutes, and chicks flying out towards the river. I thought I saw an adult coming in - but may have been wrong about that.

The off and on again continued

11:45am One left

12:18 am Second left Nest empty again

12:20 One returns

12:31pm Second returns


Both chicks go onto a semi alert - slight wing and tail spread challenge mode - sky watching

Third Chick returns.

Now all three just standing looking about - I think they think there is going to be a fish delivery Well at least that's what they are hoping for

I think I saw one chick chase another out onto the perch at the lower end of the screen - not sure if they were both chicks from the nest, or if one was a visitor. Looks like a lovely day.

Adult in with a fish - there was one chick on the nest, who happily dove in to claim the fish.




A second chick arrived a moment or two later




And Mom(?) left before the third chick arrived - less than a minute after the second one.

One chick had remained on the nest. There were two large dark birds down on the bar - I'm guessing - the siblilings.

Mom flew in with a Good Thing for he who waited


And Oh Yes - now there are no dark birds on the bar - Second chick lands


Mom decides it was best to leave - and yes this was Mom -- had a good view of the dark feathers on her chest.

She no sooner was off the nest than the third sibling landed.



Both the late arrivals made a modest show of trying to encourage the fish owner to share - no way as he mantled. Now is eating his treasure at the 2:00 spot while the other two stand by - watching - looking for that moment of carelessness
