No sooner does the third chick land that Mom takes off

She flew straight down to the sand bar, where if you watched closely, she was fishing. Saw her move on one and what appeared to be a second O showed up next to her, but flew off on up river. Mom flew on up river too. Not sure if she had a fish - but the way she moved on the river, it looked like she might have caught one

6:16 pm
All three chicks still on the nest. The one at 1:00 is eating and the one at 7:00 is standing holding what's left of his fish. The one at 5:00 is perched watching the river.

6:18 pm
The chick at 7:00 turns around for a poopshoot but hangs onto his fish the entire time.

6:20 pm
Now he's decided to eat again.

6:21 The chick at 1:00 has finally finished his meal and he then decides to flap around but doesn't leave the nest.
6:22 pm
He poopshoots over the rim then flies off and from the looks of it he lands at the sand bar.

7:40 pm
One chick on the nest eating at 7:00 corner and another arrived to perch at 3:00.

7:43 pm
The chick that arrived has flown off again.
The chick with the fish suddenly leaves the fish and wingflaps over to the other side of the nest.
Now he's picking at a small piece of fish that someone else left behind at the 4:00 side.

7:49 pm
The chick flew off low and headed over the river.
The nest is now empty.

7:57ish,
An osprey flew directly below the nest at high speed, circled out of sight below the nest and headed back out to the water. Never did come up to nest level.

8:00 pm
One arrives.
He hasn't bothered with the fish on the nest so I am assuming it's the one that ate last and flew off a few minutes ago.

Now he's flown off again before a minute is up.

8:07 pm
One chick in. He stays long enough to let me type that he's home and he flew off again. Once again he ignored the fish remains.

8:15 pm
Mom stopped in, picked up the fish remains and flew off. I'm pretty certain it was Mom. There was nothing usual looking about her. I am so sorry I missed the sc'ap.
There were no chicks on the nest and no one followed her home.

BET, do you have her on video at this time so confirm whether or not it was her ???

I am out for the night. sleepy

8:27pm........No one on the nest. I don't see any obvious signs of fish leftovers so i wonder if the chicks will stay away from the nest tonight or come home to sleep. :dunno:

Adult back - with the same fish?

Adult was eating briefly, then a chick arrived, and now the adult (Mom?) is feeding the chick.

I have enjoyed watching the chicks tearing off the nest and heading for the river. I don't expect that they are catching their own fish yet - but do think they are beginning to pay close attention to Mom and the other adults as they demonstrate their fishing skills.

11:17pm..........Not sure what I see here. It is very dark but there may be a chick sitting just above the arrow. What do you think?

11:20............After watching for a few minutes I'm 99% sure it is a chick.......seems to be moving.
