Now Mom is doing a bit of mantling and calling as well as the chick with the fish; the other chicks are also watching something overhead intently. I wish whoever is in the area would fly out over the river and give us a look.
Sorry that you keep losing the cam, Darlene. I've been lucky so far.

Chick at 7:00 works on the new fish. Chick at 12:00 works on the fish she has had since 3:50pm Chick at 1:00 - recently landed isn't interested. So Mom moves over and takes the left over piece and eats it

Darlene - shut your computer down and start over. It's the only way I have been able to resolve that "lost the cam" problem. Of course that down time is when the Action occurs. But - it's better to lose a bit than the continual freezing of the cam.

I keep using the camera also. It is very unstable for me.
Hi, BET, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I don't think this is the Dad from the nest. The tail is different. In addition, the white spots on the wings are different than our Dad's. I am going to try to go down to the nest tomorrow or the next day to see what is going on.

I'm finding it interesting that Mom seems to be totally ignoring some of the alarms by the chicks - makes me wonder if they are seeing chick #4 and trying to keep him from landing and trying to grab one of the fish, while Mom is only concerned if an adult or maybe an eagle is entering her airspace. Something was bothering Mom earlier, but she's been eating away while the chicks with fish are busily mantling.

Hi JudyB,
I am pretty sure the adult eating on the nest is not mom because of the striped tail feather we can see. The intruder male has a striped feather. If it is the male, that is why there no reaction to what is going on.

Two chicks and one adult eating and one chick standing at the 1:00 corner looking up river.
I have read through and I am fascinated by the turn of events at this nest. I can't quite figure out how an adult would be on the nest eating if it wasn't Mom. I would think the chicks would be raising a ruckus if it was anyone but her. I have to agree that the tail feather is unusual. I never noticed Mom having a feather like that.
