A brief struggle, but first chick kept the fish


12:01 pm
14 minutes late third chick arrives


The two with out the fish stand by - waiting for the moment

2:30 pm Just checked in and saw everyone on the nest.

2:48 pm. Mom is still hanging around and the chick nest to her keeps beaking off at her.

2:56 pm. I am not sure if that is mom. The adult quickly turned and the breast looked very white

3:00 pm Is that a fish in the middle that no one is touching? What is going on?

I am watching the cam at work on my break and just looked up to see an adult and my first thought Christine was that this adult looked lean like a male. I haven't seen it's chest yet but I suppose mom could be leaner as she is doing the job of 2 parents.

3:10 pm. Okay, I am sure it is a fish. SO what is going on?

Initially, I thought is was mom but I just can't be sure anymore. The whole time I have been watching one of the chicks has been beaking off at "it" and there has been a lot of mantling. The one chick is just eating at a fish and the other is standing by the other fish but not eating.

I wish the adult would turn!
